A Project in Support of #BlackLivesMatter
A new project to amplify and elevate voices in Canada's underrepresented Black community. For many who have never faced significant discrimination, systemic racism is more an idea than an insidious reality. Something seemingly from the past instead of an ever present, pervasive issue. To an outsider, racism isn't always loud and obvious, it is often hidden and rooted deeply in the way society intrinsically operates. With Project Echo, the goal is to highlight the very real ways Black individuals face prejudice, discrimination and vicious racism in day to day life. The project features Black Canadians via portraits and their stories to weave a profound tapestry of human experience. Through their personal lens, we can hopefully gain greater empathy and understanding.
